Position: Sr. Research and Evaluation Manager (Social Movements and Grassroots Organizations)

Social Insights Research is an Atlanta-based, fully remote Research and Evaluation firm that works with institutions, grassroots organizations, and movements to support transformation and further advancement through mixed method research and evaluation. SI centers the most marginalized populations and believes in evaluations to support communities and not just institutional clients. The Sr. Research and Evaluation Manager leads long and short-term evaluation and community research projects full time. They hold a diverse research and evaluation portfolio and can supervise and implement 3+ projects at any given time, while also maintaining support and guidance to other researchers and evaluators on the SI team.
Qualifications and Skills
Masters or PhD in Social Science
5+ years of experience managing projects and teams
Substantial experience working with/alongside movement organizations and grassroots social justice organizations; or deeply grounded in movement theory and praxis
This role is a remote, full-time (40 hrs) role, with a salary range of $75,000-$90,000 annually, with benefits and company wellness perks.
How Your Time Will Be Spent:
50% Project Management: supporting full project-cycle, timeline & work plan development & management, responding to requests for proposals and reporting
30% External Engagement: weekly meetings, keeping clients informed of progress and next steps, reporting, and managing relationships
20% Professional Skill Development and Coaching: working with team members and external resources to advance skills of your small team, set goals for reportees and other researchers, and give and receive feedback
You are an experienced professional with extensive experience in:
Community-based participatory research
Writing reports based on research and evaluation findings
Qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation, including data analysis with various software: MaxQda, Nvivo, SPSS, SAS, or R.
Databases and data collection systems, such as airtable, salesforce, survey monkey, and qualtrics
Working on multiple, multifaceted projects simultaneously
Communicating and honoring boundaries
Leading teams in a collaborative manner
Communicating complex information effectively in writing and speaking, and tailor communication for different audiences, including non-research audiences
Conducting focus groups, interviews, and/or field observations to answer qualitative research questions
Balancing accountability with emotional intelligence when interacting with partners, clients and the team
Offering, receiving and responding to regular feedback

Project Management + Staff Management
Oversee all aspects of data collection, entry, and quality
Manage current and new evaluation and research projects
Write proposals, reports, and other documents
Manage SI staff development including ensuring that all team members have access to measurement tools, data, and other evaluation resources to collect and use data to complete project requirements.
Support staff project work and support the development of their skills for program measurement and evaluation
Provide supervision and support to SI team members
Client Engagement
Be the principle contact for all external engagement
Facilitate and presents work to clients, boards, and stakeholders of projects
Engage key stakeholders in determining what to evaluate, the design of the evaluations, appropriate metrics, and share the results with different audiences
Develop evaluation plans and research designs that utilize participatory and community-centered methods
