Position: Research and Evaluation Manager (Full-Time)

We are looking for a research and evaluation manager to lead long and short-term evaluation and community research projects. Our work is with grassroots organizations as well as large institutions, and our expertise is utilizing innovative methods for projects that are addressing and exploring complex social issues.

Our ideal candidate has a Masters or PhD in Social Science and 3+ years of experience managing projects and teams. Experience with Participatory Action Research or community-based research with a focus on quantitative and/or qualitative methods and analysis is important for this role.

How Your Time Will Be Spent:

  • 40% Project Management: supporting full project-cycle, timeline & workplan development & management, responding to requests for proposals and reporting

  • 30% External Engagement: weekly meetings, keeping clients informed of progress and next steps, reporting, and managing relationships

  • 30% Staff Guidance and Supervision: supporting team members to advance their skills, set goals, and giving and receiving feedback

You’re experienced in…

  • Community-based participatory research

  • Writing reports based on research and evaluation findings

  • Qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation, including data analysis with various software: MaxQda, Nvivo, SPSS, SAS, or R.

  • Databases and data collection systems, such as airtable, salesforce, survey monkey, and qualtrics.

  • Working on multiple, multifaceted projects simultaneously

  • Communicating and honoring boundaries

You’re able to…

  • Working collaborative on teams

  • Communicate complex information effectively in writing and speaking, and tailor communication for different audiences, including non-research audiences

  • Conduct focus groups, interviews, and/or field observations to answer qualitative research questions

  • Balance accountability with emotional intelligence when interacting with partners, clients and the team

  • Offer, receive and respond to regular feedback

You have…

  • Relevant experience conducting complex research and/or evaluation projects using both quantitative and qualitative methods.

  • Managed other evaluation, research and support staff

  • A masters or PhD in social science or other relevant field with strong emphasis on research methods.
